Greater Baltimore AHC

New and Upcoming Projects

Greater Baltimore AHC is preserving affordable housing in several different Baltimore City neighborhoods.

In May 2010, Mayor Rawlings-Blake named Greater Baltimore AHC to the development team for 340-unit mixed-income rental and ownership residences at O'Donnell heights.

GBAHC closed on Union Rowe, a 72-unit property in April 2010. Extensive renovations will start in early 2011.

In the fall of 2008, AHC purchased MonteVerde, which provides 301 affordable apartments for elderly and non-elderly disabled residents. Renovations to update kitchens and baths, windows, new heating and cooling systems and a new roof were completed in early 2010. The two, 13-story buildings are now joined by a newly constructed building that provides a single point of entry and improved and enlarged community space.

AHC, in partnership with Apartment Investment Management Company, purchased Kirkwood House Apartments in December 2008. The project-based section 8 property is located in the Loch Raven neighborhood of northeast Baltimore. The midrise community includes 261 apartments primarily for seniors. GBAHC and Aimco began a $7.1 million renovation of the 31-year-old property in January 2009. More information.
