1500 block of West Fayette Street
Baltimore, MD 21223

Description
Located in the Franklin Square Historic District in Southwest Baltimore City, Union Rowe is a 72-unit, Section 8 housing development originally built in the late 1890s -- most recently renovated in the 1980s. The development consists of 34 three-story buildings along the 1500 block of West Fayette and includes one, two, and three-bedroom apartments.
AHC Greater Baltimore, the winning bidder at a HUD auction, purchased the property in 2010.
AHC Greater Baltimore is extensively renovating the entire complex, including roof replacement, new carpeting, more efficient HVAC systems, improved bathrooms and kitchens, refreshed entranceways, conversion of units for ADA compliance, and restoration of the historic features of the front facades. Renovation costs will be approximately $4 million.
Once the renovation is complete, GBAHC will implement a resident services program that will offer a variety of activities and programs to the residents, including adult education opportunities and an employment development program.
