More Than 30 Volunteers Join In Barclay Greenmount

Spring Sweep

Baltimore, Md. (May 9, 2011) –More than 30 volunteers, including residents, neighborhood association members and students participated in the recent Barclay Greenmount Spring Sweep on Saturday, April 26.

Armed with brooms, trash bags and other clean up tools, the volunteers organized into smaller teams and spread out in the greater Barclay Greenmount area where they spent the morning picking up litter, sweeping sidewalks and similar tasks. The volunteers then gathered to enjoy a cookout and celebrate the good work they did together.

"The response was wonderful!" said Allison Pendell Jones, assistant director of resident services at Greater Baltimore AHC, Inc., (GBAHC) owner of the Barclay Greenmount Apartments, an affordable housing community of 139 apartments.  "We are considering making the Barclay Greenmount Spring Sweep an annual event and we will keep everyone updated," she said.
