Alleys Get a Clean Up in Preparation for
April 30 Spring Sweep 2011
Baltimore, Md. (April 26, 2011) – Alleys in approximately 20 square blocks surrounding the Barclay Greenmount Apartments recently received a thorough Spring cleaning in preparation for Saturday's Spring Sweep 2011 when volunteers will spend the morning on other activities such as picking up trash and planting annuals in the neighborhoods.
The GBAHC cleaning crews concentrated on alleys from Lanvale Street to the South; Greenmount West to the East; Calvert Street to the West and 24th Street to the North.
According to Dale Hargrave, president of the New Greenmount West Community Association, and a long-time resident of the area, "We can't thank GBAHC, Carlton Miller and his team enough for this effort. They did a great job and the alleys are actually clean enough to safely and enjoyably drive through."
“We're hoping that this alley cleanup effort will spur homeowners and other landlords in the area to pay attention to alleys near them to make sure they receive some Spring cleaning as well,” said Allison Pendell Jones, assistant director of resident services for GBAHC.
