AHC Greater Baltimore Announces Completion of Phase 1 of Union Rowe Renovations
Baltimore, Md. (October 31, 2011)---AHC Greater Baltimore, a developer of affordable apartment communities in the greater Baltimore region, today announced the completion of the first phase of its extensive renovations of Union Rowe Apartments, formerly Franklin Square Apartments, in the 1500 block of West Fayette Street, Baltimore, according to Andrew M. Vincent, director of AHC Greater Baltimore.
"This first phase included 26 apartments that each received new windows and doors, new flooring, kitchens and bathrooms, light fixtures, fresh paint in every room," said Vincent.
People residing in the Phase 1 apartments were temporarily relocated to other, nearby apartments in the building, so the renovations could be completed as quickly as possible.
The next phase renovation, including 29 apartments, is already underway. It is anticipated that all work will be completed by Spring 2012.
In addition to the extensive work on all of the Union Rowe apartments, renovations also include historic detailing that will be recreated on the front exterior as well as enhancements to the rear exterior. Also included in the renovations will be a laundry room, community space and a leasing office.
AHC Greater Baltimore purchased the apartment property when it offered the winning bid of $725,000 at the HUD auction of the former Franklin Square Apartments in February 2010.
